Statuses, trash, and recurrence
Statuses describe the current phase of an item.
Typical workflows include active statuses, one or more complete statuses, and trash for items you no longer want in the active workspace.

Statuses
Section titled “Statuses”Statuses should describe the real phases an item moves through. Keep them simple enough that people can choose the right one quickly.
Common examples include:
- Todo
- In progress
- Blocked
- Done
Project settings control which statuses exist, how they are ordered, and which ones count as complete.
Complete items
Section titled “Complete items”When an item moves into a complete status, it leaves the normal Active workflow and appears in Complete. That keeps current work focused without losing the history of what was finished.
For recurring items, completion is also the point where LFG List can create the next item in the series.
Moving an item to trash removes it from normal views without immediately deleting it forever.
Trash is useful when you want to clean up a project but still need a chance to restore something.
Use Trash for items you do not want to see in Active or Complete. Restore an item if it was moved by mistake.
Recurrence
Section titled “Recurrence”Recurring items can create the next item in a series when the current item transitions into a complete status.
Use recurrence for work that repeats on a known schedule, such as weekly reviews or monthly maintenance.
The due date helps communicate timing:
- Items due today or tomorrow should be treated as immediate.
- Items due soon should stay visible without feeling overdue.
- Future recurring items can remain out of the way until they are relevant.
Avoid using recurrence for a checklist that should produce many items at once. Recurrence works best when each completed item leads to the next scheduled item.
