Fields and visible columns
Project fields define what information items can hold. Visible columns control which of those fields appear in the desktop grid.
Configuration requires Owner or Admin access and a connection. Contributors can edit item values for enabled fields; Viewers cannot.
Enable fields
Section titled “Enable fields”- Open Project settings → Fields.
- Enable the fields your project needs, such as due dates, priorities, or created date.
- Open an item to use those fields.
Status and item keys always exist. Hiding their columns does not remove them from items. Labels, Repeat, and custom fields require Pro. Assignee controls are relevant to projects with multiple members.
Labels
Section titled “Labels”Open Fields → Labels to create, rename, or recolor project labels. Choose a label on an item to classify it, then use label filters to find related work.
Labels belong to one project. Deleting a label removes its references from that project’s items; it does not delete the items.
Custom fields
Section titled “Custom fields”Open Fields → Custom fields and create a Text, Select, or Multi-select field. Text accepts free-form values; Select allows one option; Multi-select allows several.
Drag fields to change their order in item details. Select and Multi-select fields have an options page for adding, searching, reordering, recoloring, archiving, and restoring choices. Owners and Admins can also create an option while editing an item; Contributors use existing options.
Archiving a field or option preserves its existing item data for reference. Select choices have no fixed option-count limit, so a field can accommodate a growing list such as release versions. A project supports up to 20 active custom fields.
Visible columns
Section titled “Visible columns”- Open Project settings → Fields → Visible columns.
- Show or hide optional built-in and custom-field columns.
- Drag visible columns into the order you want.
A hidden column’s data remains on the item. Column order is independent of custom-field order in item details. Creating a field can add its column immediately; check this page if you want a different layout.
On mobile, LFG List shows compact rows rather than all desktop columns. Open the item for its full set of fields.
