Due dates and repeat
A due date identifies the calendar day an item is due. Repeat creates a follow-up occurrence when you complete the current one.
Set a due date
Section titled “Set a due date”- Open an item.
- Select Due date and choose a day in the calendar.
- Close the picker; the change saves automatically.
If the field is missing, ask an Owner or Admin to enable it in Project settings → Fields. Due dates are available on Free and Pro.
Dates provide a quick visual cue: future dates are muted, tomorrow is amber, today is orange, and overdue items show a red Overdue label. Dates on completed and trashed items are muted. The date text remains available alongside color.
Repeat an item
Section titled “Repeat an item”Requires Pro and Repeat enabled in the project. Enabling Repeat also enables due dates.
- Open an item and set its Due date.
- In Repeat, choose Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.
- Complete the item through its workflow when that occurrence is finished.
The next occurrence is created when the item transitions into a Complete status, or when its configured check action advances the series by moving it to Trash. It uses the first Active status. Simply reaching the due date does not create another item. The next due date advances from the current due date, not the day you complete it: one day, one week, one month, or one year. Completing a long-overdue item can therefore produce another overdue occurrence.
Choose Does not repeat to stop repetition on that item. Explicitly moving it to Trash also does not create a successor. Restoring the original does not create another occurrence.
Receive reminders
Section titled “Receive reminders”A due date alone does not enable device notifications. Set up account and Android reminders. Reminders apply to eligible active items you created or are assigned to, and require Pro.
If a successor is missing, first check the completion action, then reconnect if the check was saved offline.
