Find and organize items
Search when you know something about an item. Use views and filters to browse a smaller set of work.
Search a project
Section titled “Search a project”- Open the project that contains the item.
- On desktop, type in Search items above the grid. On mobile, tap Search items first to reveal the input.
- Open a matching result.
A nonblank search looks across the whole selected project, including Complete and Trash. It temporarily ignores the selected view and filters. The view shows All items while search is active.
View and filter controls, quick add, and manual reordering are unavailable during search. Clear the search to return to your previous view and filter selections. Closing mobile search also clears its query. Ctrl/Cmd + / opens and focuses search.
Search is project-specific. If you cannot find an item, check the selected project and account. Offline results are limited to information available on that device; reconnect for a complete server query.
Choose a view and filters
Section titled “Choose a view and filters”With search cleared, select Active, Complete, or Trash. Then use Filters to narrow by the fields enabled for the project, such as status, priority, label, assignee, and due date.
The Due filter includes items due today or earlier; items without a due date are excluded. An exact status filter selects the statuses you chose. Clear filters if expected items disappear.
Sort and reorder
Section titled “Sort and reorder”Open Sort to choose manual order, created or completed date, due date, status, or priority where available. Status sorting follows the order configured in the project’s workflow, rather than alphabetical status names.
Use manual order when you want to arrange items yourself. Drag rows into position while manual ordering is available. Switch away from another sort before trying to preserve a hand-arranged order.
Results are paged, with 50 items per page. Use the page controls to continue through the results rather than assuming the first page contains everything.
Choose visible columns
Section titled “Choose visible columns”Owners and Admins can open Project settings → Fields → Visible columns to show, hide, or reorder optional columns. Hiding a column does not remove its field or data. Mobile uses compact rows rather than the full desktop grid.
See fields and columns for configuration, or restore an item if your result is in Trash.
